I've been watching Saturday Night Live for forever, and although I prefer the series circa 2000-2008, it is still in important part of both television and pop culture today. Almost every week following a show there is a clip of a skit on my Facebook feed, usually political, but always relevant. It is also such an amazing option for artists, including the likes of Chance the Rapper, to gain a national audience and put themselves out there. I also love the inclusion of Tina's comment because she was such an integral part of the show - her own show, 30 Rock is based off of SNL and its really cool to see the creative process through that show as well. Saturday Night...I really enjoyed reading this post. Saturday Night Live is such a great example of a "product" that exceeds everything done before. I knew very little about the background of the show. The idea that a combination of practice, control, risk-taking, and - in a way - letting go of the expectations, is genius.
